A Trip to the Cath Lab

Liliana is on her way to the cath lab today. How does that make me feel? A little nervous, anxious, yet optimistic. I am hoping they do not find anything different than what they already know. I do hope that their attempts to use Viagra to lower the pressures in her heart will be successful. We just want our baby back home and healthy. She has had to fight so hard to stay alive. It just doesn't seem fair. To top things off we received a phone call from Bill's mom this morning stating that her cardiologist wants to admit her today to Fairview hospital because her EKG looked different from the last one she had done. They want her to do a non-stress test to rule out if she had a mild heart attack or not. Hopefully everything will check out ok for Grandma. What else could possibly happen? Well, here I sit just waiting for some good news today.

Hi Kim, My name is Joyce and I am Sarah's mom. I have left a few comments on your husbands blog too. I first read your story on the Northeast Ohio list serve. I am so sorry to hear you are taking the long road with Lily's heart issues. We did too. We spent almost five months at the Cleveland Clinic the first time and then many extended stays after that. I only tell you this so you realize you are not alone. I remember watching many other families come and go on the more typical recovery plan and feeling so alone and depressed. I only wish we had this blogging tool back then to realize we were not alone and to communicate with other families.

As you can see from our pictures on this blog, Sarah did indeed recover and has had an amazing 19 years. Believe it or not there are still nurses on M43 and 33 that were there taking care of Sarah.

I'm sorry to hear about your MIL too. This has to be so stressful for all of you. I know we have never met, but if I can help your family in any way, please do not hesitate to call. I can so feel the struggles with your situation right now. We live in South Euclid so I am very close to the Clinic. Please don't hesitate to call - my cell is 216-780-5916.

You don't know me but I took the link to your blog from Sarah's blog. I was struck by the fact that our daughters (both with Ds) are just about a month apart. Upon reading of your struggles I can't even begin comprehend what you must be going through. Our little Mary has two small holes in her heart that, for now, won't require surgery. I see now that pales in comparison to what you must be going through.
Please now that your little girl and your family are in our prayers.
May God bless you!

Kim, my name is Lisa and I'm the mom of 6 kids. My youngest, Finn, was born this last July and has Ds. So our little ones are very close in age. I am so sorry for the struggles you and your family are going through right now. Any words that come to my mind seem weak and flimsy in the face of what you are dealing with, but please know that I, and lots of other people, will be thinking of your sweet little baby and sending well wishes for her recovery and return home.
