Hold On a Minute!

When I arrived here at the PICU today the nurse practitioner painted a bit of a dismal picture. She told me that Liliana is not going in the direction they want her to. Her fluid output was on the positive side and her white blood cell count was up. They have done several blood cultures on Liliana and they keep coming back negative which is good but that doesn't explain the high white blood cell count. Also she is still having the bloody secretions when they suction her lungs, although when they just suctioned her the blood was not fresh and new it was older which is a good sign. Long story short...since she has an infection going on surgery may be postponed. They were not sure what Dr. Mavroudis would decide to do as of yet. So we will wait and hope that the new antibiotics they put her on will do the trickand that her infection will go away so she can have her third surgery next week. Well, one good thing is that her fluid output is now on the negative end and continuing to go further south. Hang in there baby girl! Keep on fighting and never give up! It reminds me of 2nd Timothy 4:7. I have fought the good fight, I have completed the race, I have kept the faith. She may not have completed the race yet, but we have kept the faith and believe that she will finish.

I'm sorry that the surgery may be postponed. That was a big fear of mine prior to Lily's surgery. I'm still praying that your sweet Lily will be home by Christmas. What a special gift that would be!

The following scripture verses brought me comfort when we were going through our Lily's surgery:

Isaiah 41:10

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Lamentations 2:19Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

May God bless all of you!!
